About Me

Alyssa Lopez, born and raised in New Jersey, got her start in art from doing arts and crafts projects with her mother when she was young and watching Bob Ross and live coverage of fashion shows. Because of her childhood difficulty communicating through words, Alyssa turned to art to communicate through pictures. She was enrolled in private lessons when she was 7 years old and continued her education at F.I.T for Fashion Design and Illustration and completed her AA in the Arts at Brookdale. In addition to traditional education, she also completed two apprenticeships. One under Tom Smith, a Marvel Studios Colorist for the Spider Man comics. The other, Richard Botto, an award winning equestrian portrait artist.  Alyssa likes to work in all mediums. Her favorites are oil paint and pen and ink, but she most frequently works with acrylic paint and pencil. Alyssa considers her style of art to be more adaptive, which enables her to create with a multitude of mediums and perspectives, such as illustrations with fine line details and abstract color-focused paintings. She has been featured in multiple galleries in New York and New Jersey, most notably at Atelier Rosal. Alyssa has recently been involved in many unique projects like creating art work Paramount to help curate artwork for Janis Ians garage, Jersey City Cat Cafe and Adoption Center, a marathon carver for RISE of the JackO’lanterns, a chosen artist for Sing For Hope Project, and most recently Live painting murals at various locations such as Jersey City!
